Professional Training
Meeting the needs of all students often requires a cultural shift that can only be achieved over time. While our in-person workshops are highly instructional, ongoing support is provided during the implementation phase when many questions may arise. This provides an opportunity for us to customize recommendations and provide support to staff so that adapted programming is effective and sustainable.
Training participants will gain:
Increased confidence in supporting students with autism and sensory needs across academic, social, and physical settings.
Greater understanding of sensory processing disorder and autism spectrum differences, and how these impact learning, behavior, and participation across various environments.
Knowledge of sensory regulation strategies (movement, environmental modifications, sensory tools) and how to integrate them to improve student readiness to learn.
Instructors will be able to support students in:
Recognizing their own sensory needs and developing self-regulation and coping strategies.
Advocating to have their own needs met.
Creating inclusive environments that support neurodiverse learners.
Establishing a positive culture of acceptance.
